Over the Christmas holidays, I built an AR (easy to do) by going to my Local Dealer and buying an Anderson stripped lower for $55.00. Then mail ordered everything else when PSA held sales and ended up with a mid-length free float Stainless 1/7 rifle I have dedicated for my coyote rifle. It is extremely accurate and it cost under $500.00 total. I also have the M&P Sport 2 but it was over $500.00. Don't think you can't do it. I did mine with a rubber hammer, wooden dowel rod and a couple of punches on the kitchen table while watching youtube how-to videos.
