First of all apologies for typing in English, but I am Greek, recently moved to Taiwan/Kaohsiung and my Chinese, still not to the level to type (speaking, kind of better ). Happy to join the forum, as here, I even found information on car mechanic I could get my car to be inspected. Thank you all for being so resourceful.
I post here so I do not start a new topic about a RO system I would like to purchase for our home. We live in 新興 area, and we would like to use the tap water to safely cook, wash vegetables. I am not sure if we would trust it to drink it (perhaps we could have the water tested after we install the RO system).
I would like to ask you :
a) Can you recommend a related store, anywhere in Kaohsiung (but if closer to the center, even better) where we could go and ask information? b) Do you use any RO system that you use to directly drink the water without any other process (boiling etc..)
Just an update, we eventually bought 3M's TR1 system (https://www.3m.com.tw/3M/zh_TW/p/d/v100987360/). Having used another non-RO filter in another home, we were satisfied with 3M, so we went for this system. Next week will be installed and I will share my impressions.
@vikingmeadows, Thank you, but we already got the 3M system 木子琪 , Thank you for the suggestion.
So, another update. After we set up the 3M TR1 RO system, we sent water sample to a laboratory for analysis. Heavy Metals were no detected, however, it was detected 糞便性鏈球菌 1 in CFU/100 mL... ... We sent an email to the laboratory asking for explanation, but our online search showed that drinking water should be "0" / "negative" as there is no acceptable minimum level...
We found that UV filters, theoretically, kill 99% of such bacteria. Do you think that it would be possible to add a UV system in the existing TR1 one? I mean, before or after the TR1 to add to the pipe another UV system. Of course we will contact 3M as well. Just asking and updating you...
